Having had to see how dementia and alzheimers affected two of my grandparents, without any clear diagnoses for either of them and without an awful lot of assistance, I am not entirely surprised by the findings. While the NHS did what they could, it wasn't ideal. I can't say whether it was enough, or whether if things had changed they would have been different, but it was clear that they couldn't offer all the assistance needed. It got fairly unpleasant and upsetting at times.

Mental health issues in general tend to be kept quiet, particularly the ones that there is less knowledge about or less available assistance.
