Be Afraid…For No Reason!

The threat of international terrorism to the UK was raised from substantial to the second highest level of severe last night, meaning an attack is “highly likely”.
Alan Johnson, the home secretary, said there was no intelligence to suggest an attack was imminent.
I’ll let the words speak for themselves, shall I? Why don’t we all keep an eye on bad police behaviour, which inevitably gets justified through a ’severe’ terror level?

Im surprised it took you so long to blog about this to be honest.
I can understand that there are a number of important events coming up that the govt/police need to keep vigil for, and suspect could be targets; but to increase the level when there is NO evidence is just another example of scaremongering by the Labour Government!
It’s a continuation of the government’s abandonment of evidence-based policy. No WMD evidence in Iraq? Invade anyway! Drugs czar says one thing? Do the other! No evidence of an impending terrorist attack? Up the threat level! Be afraid! It’ll free the government to monitor you with aerial drones!
